Baloch Organizations seeking EU members support calling for Pakistan to be held accountable for its alleged role in enforced disappearances of Baloch people.

In a bid to bring attention to the ongoing issue of enforced disappearances of Baloch people in Pakistan, several Baloch organizations (Baloch Voice Association, Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, Baloch Peoples Congress) have written letters to members of the European Union (EU) calling for the country to be held accountable.

The letters, which were sent to various EU officials and parliamentarians, have called for the EU to take action against Pakistan and impose sanctions on the country.

According to the Baloch organizations, the Pakistani authorities have been carrying out enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and torture against Baloch people for several years. These actions have been perpetrated in the name of counterterrorism operations and have resulted in the disappearance of thousands of Baloch people.

The letters, which were sent to EU members including France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom, urge the international community to take action against Pakistan for its human rights abuses in Balochistan. The organizations also called for the EU to impose sanctions on Pakistani officials responsible for these violations.

The letters also highlighted the alleged involvement of Pakistani security forces in human rights violations in Balochistan, including the killing of civilians and the use of excessive force against peaceful protesters.

The Baloch organizations pointed out that the situation in Balochistan has been deteriorating for several years and that the Pakistani government has done little to address the issue. They believe that international pressure is necessary to force the government to take action and put an end to the enforced disappearances.

The Baloch organizations have urged the EU to use its diplomatic and economic leverage to pressure Pakistan to put an end to enforced disappearances and other human rights abuses in Balochistan. They have called for the imposition of targeted sanctions against Pakistani officials responsible for such abuses.

The letters have been welcomed by human rights activists who have long been calling for action to be taken against Pakistan for its human rights abuses in Balochistan. It is hoped that the EU will take these letters seriously and work towards holding Pakistan accountable for its actions.
